ROB HALFORD: JUDAS PRIEST Are 'Kinda, Sorta' Signed To SONY MUSIC
April 2, 2004JUDAS PRIEST frontman Rob Halford has "unofficially" confirmed that the band have re-signed with Sony Music for their much-anticipated reunion album, tentatively due before the end of the year. Asked during an interview on the Phoenix radio station KDKB Tuesday (March 30) if PRIEST was back on the Columbia label (subsidiary of Sony),Halford said, "Kinda, sorta. There's gotta be, like, this official press release thing, but I think we're gonna end up back with the family that we started out with. That'll be a great way to kind of put the movie together — you know, the final scene is we're back with the label again. So yeah, it's a good feeling to be in that place."
With regards to JUDAS PRIEST's new album, Halford said, "[the rest of the band are] working over there [at an English studio]. I'm gonna be joining them next and doing the vocals for the record. The whole music is written. It sounds great. We're very excited. All the great things you expect from PRIEST will be on this record. It's the classic moments… We're not trying to be clever. We're being who we are."
